The South Bend Symphony Orchestra invites homeschool families to observe an open rehearsal of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, his “Ode to Joy”. You will see the inner workings of how exactly a group of over 100 musicians, led by Maestro Alastair Willis, prepares to perform one of the greatest musical works of all time. This experience will give you and your students a chance to learn more about the jobs of professional musicians and how a symphony is run.

This will take place on Saturday, April 1st from 10:30am-noon and it is completely free to attend – registration is required. The open rehearsal is at the Morris Performing Arts Center in downtown South Bend. Parking is free for two hours at the nearby garage on Main and Colfax, as well as designated streets downtown.
