Notre Dame Children’s Choir is Registering New Singers!

An event every day that begins at 3:30 pm, repeating until September 7, 2022
Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the Notre Dame Children’s Choir (NDCC) is registering new singers ages 5-18 from now through Tuesday, September 6, 2022. A free, after school music education program, the NDCC is committed to sharing the heritage of the Catholic sacred-music tradition with children of all ages. This year’s theme is “My Soul Magnifies the Lord!” Our ensembles sing concerts and liturgies at the University of Notre Dame and at local churches across our community as well as tour nationally and internationally. Home school singers are an important part of our program and currently make up a quarter of our 150 students.
We have ensembles for singers of all ages and abilities, Our choirs primarily meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15-5:45pm. Our Liturgical Choir, which sings for weekly mass and vespers at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of Notre Dame, meets every Monday from 3:45-6:00pm. Our choirs:
Prelude Choir – for Toddlers – 4 with a parent
Cherub Choir – ages 5-6
Cantabile Choir – ages 7-8
Descant Choir – ages 9-10
Chamber Choir – ages 11-14
Seraphim Choir – ages 15-17 and boys whose voices have changed or are currently changing
Liturgical Choir – ages 9-17
Lyric Choir for Singers with Mixed Abilities – variable ages
Our Chamber, Seraphim, and Liturgical Choirs will tour to Washington D.C. in the summer of 2023 and to perform concerts and sing liturgies at the National Shrine of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and Washington National Cathedral.
