Game of Life/ Financial Reality Fair

The Financial Reality Fair consists of two parts:
1. At Home Career Survey and Job Choice
2. In Person Financial Reality Fair

BEFORE THE FAIR, the student will complete a a pre-work Student Packet (will be emailed once you register), consisting of career survey and a list of entry level positions to match their interests. Student will pick their career from this list before attending the fair.

AT THE FAIR the students will have a hands‐on experience in which they will visit several booths to complete their monthly budget. Using the job and salary they chose before the fair, each student must learn to calculate their take home pay after taxes, then budget within their monthly income, while paying for basics such as housing, utilities, transportation, clothing, and food. Throughout the fair, there are many temptations for additional spending, such as entertainment and travel, students must learn to balance their wants and needs while living independently.
This eye-opening experience will give the student a glimpse into what costs they can expect and how take responsibility for personal financial decisions with the use of a Monthly Budget
