About Us

Our Mission

The reasons families choose to homeschool a child vary; but, what remains consistent is the desire to be the main guide of their child’s education. The Homeschool Source wants to assist every homeschool family in their journey. As homeschoolers with over seventeen years of experience, we know that our local community is filled with extensive educational resources that are greatly underutilized. The homeschool community is set up in small configurations which limits the dissemination of information. As a result, many businesses and educational institutions struggle with reaching the homeschool community. The purpose of The Homeschool Source is to provide homeschool families and the local community with a single point of communication and a support network. With this network, The Homeschool Source can assist businesses and educational institutions in reaching the homeschool community; thereby, generating more opportunities for both homeschool families and local communities.

Our Team

Margaret (Maggie) Temeles is a mother of nine children and has  homeschooled her children since 2002. She moved to the Michiana area from Virginia
in 2016. She has homeschooled her children through sixth grade, at least, and her children have attended both private and public schools. She was a member of a co-op for fourteen years while in Virginia. Maggie has a B.A. in Communications from St. Mary’s College and a J.D. from Washington & Lee University School
of Law.

Susan Haas has lived in the Michiana area for over
20 years. She has two sons who were homeschooled K-12 and utilized some dual enrollment the last two years of high school (one through a local university and one through a local high school). She started homeschooling with out-of-the-box curriculum and then moved to an eclectic style geared towards the children’s interests. One son is in college pursuing Computer Science. The other son is studying Computer-Aided Drafting and Computer Graphics. Susan has a B.A. in Visual Communication Design from Purdue University.

The initiation of The Homeschool Source was by Margaret Temeles, Susan Haas, and the Garatoni Family Office. Administrative and financial support was provided by the Garatoni Family Office and the Garatoni-Smith Family Foundation.
